1548 building restored to it’s former grandeur

From the 16th to the 21st century, a careful renovation.

One of the projects we are most proud of has to be the restoration of the Chequers Hotel in Pulborough.

This charming hotel nestling in the heart of the Sussex Downs was looking very down at heel, its stunning history hidden under layer of peeling render, shabby woodwork and faded paint.

With the building dating back to 1548 we had to be incredibly sympathetic and ensure that everything we carried out was in keeping the splendour of hotel, maintaining its history whilst bringing it back to life.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, in this case it is certainly true, browse through the pictorial tale of the renovation from start to finish.

Chequers really is such a charming hotel and we are delighted (as are the owners) with the finish achieved.
