Phew, this was hard going in the ongoing heatwave but what a result!
This tea-shop/restaurant in Arundel, West Sussex had certainly taken a bashing. We were tasked to renovate the entire building including walls and woodwork – sadly we didn’t take any before photos but are certain you will like the finished look!
Don’t take our word for it though, why not visit Juniper in Tarrant Street, Arundel and see for yourselves.
We’ve written before about our external decorating but thought we would refresh your memory!
Although UPVC windows and doors are becoming so much more common there are still lot’s of building – particularly period cottages and houses that have the original frames, indeed plenty are under special orders that they are not allowed to be change.
This doesn’t mean though that they have to go to wrack and ruin, as the pictures below show with a bit of TLC your outside woodwork and be returned to it’s former glory and beyond.
Here at K&R we take a pride in our work and your home is in safe hands. From the initial, careful sanding of the project to filling (if necessary), treating and eventually painting you are guaranteed the very best of service every time.
To see our projects as they happen then pop over to our Facebook page.
We were lucky enough to be invited to work at a wonderful house full of beautiful beams – why would you want to change them we hear you ask?
Rather than ‘changing’ them, we’ve enhanced them!
Using our favourite Farrow & Ball paint range choosing a sympathetic grey eggshell paint for the beams, edged with an acrylic white eggshell for the window frames and skirting and finished with a coat of ‘blackened’ on the walls.
We love it, the client loves it – what do you think?
Yep, we all see the many variants of paints, textures, colours etc but maybe it’s a simple as a refresh with good old magnolia?
Don’t think of this as boring – see it as a blank canvas, one that can be added to with other accessories for example.
Painting an all over colour is simple and cost effective giving you time to plan your look and it’s remarkable what a difference it can make to your home – transforming dingy, dirty walls into a clean, fresh and bright surface to adorn – or not.
This week we have been putting our all into revamping four, yes four, bathrooms.
Being bathrooms (and therefore tending to get a tad steamy) these needed a variety of techniques and it was great fun to combine them all.
Being an older property we had plenty of remedial work to undertake before we could even begin the decoration side of things.
Re-plastering where needed, sanding the wood down to it’s original glory, decorating the walls with a fresh, new, bathroom friendly waterproof paint, coating the many areas of woodwork with a toning cream colour before, finally, using a special mix of beautiful cornflower blue to spray-paint the feature bath in the main bathroom.
Pop over to our Facebook page for more makeovers as they happen.
With all the modern technology available now, yes, I know, we love our spray-painting – some of the best finishes are those done with painstaking care, especially when it comes to the older properties.
Uneven walls, small spaces, haven’t been decorated for years, you know the sort!
We were delighted to be commissioned to work in a beautiful old cottage recently, the bathroom was in urgent need of a complete facelift – and boy, did it get it!!!
With a new suite having been installed it was even more important that everything was carefully prepared including the tedious (but necessary) task of covering everything up.
With the bathroom furniture wrapped up tight the decorating could begin.
Using a warm beige paint, especially mixed for bathrooms (of course), the walls and woodwork were cleaned and sanded before being hand-painted with the greatest of care.
I’m sure you’ll agree from the pictures that it’s another ‘job well done’ by K&R Decorators!
It’s nearly the end of 2017 and what a year it has been for us here at K&R Decorators…
Our hard work and attention to detail has certainly paid off and our reputation for a quality service is ever growing.
This year has seen some amazing projects for some wonderful clients – all of which have led onto both more commissions and new customers – reputation really is key.
We have completed a wide range of work this year, notably the fabulous renovation of the Chequers Inn at Pulborough, what a great project to be involved in
With the proximity to Goodwood and Cowdray we have been invited to do more and more equestrian work – this revamp of a local livery yard was certainly well received!
Lots and lots of interior painting and decorating has been undertaken, the colours this year have been lovely– warm browns and blues coupled with soft creams, these even extended to an outside project.
Of course, one of the most exciting of things this year has been the inauguration of our sister company D.K. Spray – as the name suggests DK specialises in spray painting and has certainly taken the area by storm, our diary is jam packed with kitchens seeming to be the most popular of projects for this technique (although it is probably the most versatile of methods)
Phew, we will be glad of the (very short) break this Christmas but are certainly ready and able to tackle the start of 2018.
Thanks, as always to you – our clients, friends and families for all your support & recommendations, HAPPY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!
