Polo Club Revamp 2019

Fabulous revamp of the prestigious Cowdray Park Polo Club, Ambersham, West Sussex.

This was a full-on project, necessary before the upcoming Polo season!

With the wooden floors and bars stripped back we applied a special wood dye and finished off with a durable lacquer.

Woodwork over and done with we dusted off before embarking on the paintwork including spraying the ceilings with Johnstone’s white vinyl matt and painting the walls in a Farrow & Ball ‘elephants breath mixed with Johnstone’s soft sheen for the perfect finish to the hall.

We then moved on to the kitchen and bathrooms, painting these in a white vinyl silk before completing all woodwork with an oil-based gloss.

We’re sure you’ll agree from the photo’s that it was a job well done!

Stable Revamp

Finally finished! You may remember some time ago we told you we were starting a large stable refurbishment in the local area?

Using our popular spray painting technique we stripped the rusty original down, prepared it and then resprayed in a suitable paint finish.

We had a bit of a blip during the project – David unfortunately was hospitalised and subsequently had his appendix removed. Kev to the rescue, along with a quickly drafted sub.

Job finished on time, delighted client and David recovered well. If you want to see what we have done internally then please see our previous stable decoration.

Here’s some before & after pictures…

Complete house re-decoration in Petworth

Sometimes it’s one room – sometimes an entire house that needs redecorating.

This one is a beauty! Set in Petworth with wonderful views across the downs the house needed a clean, fresh and neutral look so that is what we did.

With the walls rolled in Wimbourne white vinyl matt and the woodwork sprayed in the white aqua satin this home is now a blank canvas ready for colour injection – or not!

Beautiful Bathrooms

This week we have been putting our all into revamping four, yes four, bathrooms.

Being bathrooms (and therefore tending to get a tad steamy) these needed a variety of techniques and it was great fun to combine them all.

Being an older property we had plenty of remedial work to undertake before we could even begin the decoration side of things.

Re-plastering where needed, sanding the wood down to it’s original glory, decorating the walls with a fresh, new, bathroom friendly waterproof paint, coating the many areas of woodwork with a toning cream colour before, finally, using a special mix of beautiful cornflower blue to spray-paint the feature bath in the main bathroom.

Pop over to our Facebook  page for more makeovers as they happen.

Happy Christmas 2017

It’s nearly the end of 2017 and what a year it has been for us here at K&R Decorators…

Our hard work and attention to detail has certainly paid off and our reputation for a quality service is ever growing.

This year has seen some amazing projects for some wonderful clients – all of which have led onto both more commissions and new customers – reputation really is key.

We have completed a wide range of work this year, notably the fabulous renovation of the Chequers Inn at Pulborough, what a great project to be involved in

painters decorators

With the proximity to Goodwood and Cowdray we have been invited to do more and more equestrian work – this revamp of a local livery yard was certainly well received!

Lots and lots of interior painting and decorating has been undertaken, the colours this year have been lovely– warm browns and blues coupled with soft creams, these even extended to an outside project.

Of course, one of the most exciting of things this year has been the inauguration of our sister company D.K. Spray – as the name suggests DK specialises in spray painting and has certainly taken the area by storm, our diary is jam packed with kitchens seeming to be the most popular of projects for this technique (although it is probably the most versatile of methods)

Phew, we will be glad of the (very short) break this Christmas but are certainly ready and able to tackle the start of 2018.

Thanks, as always to you – our clients, friends and families for all your support & recommendations, HAPPY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

Spray-painting absolutely everything!

Spraypainting at D.K.Spray part two….

spray-paint-petworth

As we saw on the last blog post, the extremely talented D.K.Spray have joined ranks with K&R Decorators – forming a force to be reasoned with.

Using the latest in spray technology and armed with the skill and expertise to use it the team have moved onto new heights.

We showcased the kitchens on the last post as they were causing the biggest stir but feel it necessary to point out that pretty much anything can be decorated using this method.

Have a look at the slideshow – you will see it includes all woodwork, both internal and external, shelving, walls and even bathrooms!! Truly diverse.

Introducing D.K.Spray

So, as you can see, we have an additional string to our bow – the partnership with the newly formed D.K.Spray.

spray-paint

We’ve showcased some of our spray painting work before and it has caused an absolute deluge of enquiries and the most amazing feedback.

Spray painting can be used on pretty much anything and creates a flawless, even surface to be proud of.

We have used it on railings, all sorts of woodwork – including stabling (which is another story) walls and, most popular of all, kitchens!

Now, we’ve done write-ups on kitchen makeovers before but, because we have done so many recently, we feel they deserve an extra promotion!

Kitchens are notoriously expensive to replace and so get put on hold time and again. Imagine being able to have a sparkling new, completely altered kitchen area without the massive expense of a whole refit.

We at D.K.Spray offer just this, removing your tired cupboard doors, prepping them and then carefully spraying them in the paint and colour of your choosing – the Farrow & Ball range seems to be amongst the most popular at the moment and is producing some awesome finishes.

Anyway, have a browse through these kitchen makeover ‘before and after’ pictures and next time we will elaborate on what else the spray service has to offer.

Please also follow the Facebook link and have a look (and like) our brand-new page.
